MGA's AI App Challenge | Middle Georgia State University

Get ready for a full day of inspiration, creativity, and cutting-edge technology at the MGA AI App & Coding Challenge! This one-day, hackathon-style event invites students from all majors to design and build an AI-powered application or digital art and media project, then pitch their idea to a panel of judges in a Shark Tank–style competition. No prior coding experience is required—just a clear vision and the ability to collaborate with AI tools. Challenge themes will be revealed on the day of the competition, so come ready to think creatively and adapt on the spot! Winning teams will receive prizes, and food and refreshments will be provided throughout the event.

Participants: Open to all currently enrolled MGA students

What Is the MGA AI App Coding Challenge?

Students will use AI tools to build a functional web or mobile application, create a digital art or media-based project. Teams may compete across multiple disciplines, emphasizing innovation, usability, and real-world impact.

Prompt Engineering Skills
UI/UX Design
Presentation Quality

Rules & Requirements

Eligibility: MGA students only
Team Size: 1–4 students
Any programming language allowed
AI-assisted tools are encouraged

Each team must submit:

A working prototype
A 5-minute presentation
A short live demo
